Our belief system, is it our safety net?

Under the big tent of the circus, I felt the excitement buzzing in the air. With colorful tents all around and the smell of popcorn through, I could see a lot of excitement around, especially with kids. The lights dimmed, and the spotlights were switched on the performers, kicking off the show with energetic music.
The acrobat artists were incredible, flipping and twisting in the air synchronising with harmonious activities, with such skill that it seemed like magic. Among them was a group of acrobats who balanced on poles, leaping from one to another without a second thought. It was breathtaking to watch.
But amidst all the excitement, that caught my notice is the safety net below. It was there to catch anyone who fell, but it made me wonder: did these expert acrobats ever worry about falling?
That got me thinking. Just like the safety net, our beliefs support us in life. Some are like a sturdy foundation, giving us strength and confidence to move ahead. But others, they’re more like dead weight, holding us back and impacting our relationships and confidence.
Many of these beliefs are just in our heads, relics from the past that we no longer need. Yet, we still carry them around, weighing us down. It’s important to take a moment in our busy lives to reflect on what beliefs we’re carrying and let go of the ones that aren’t serving us anymore.

So as the circus continued to entertain, I made a point to prioritize myself to delve into a long pending inner journey to challenge my beliefs. Because in the end, it’s not just about the dazzling performances that we witness outside —it’s also about the lessons we learn along the way of our life.
