Seeking the Divine: A Humble Farmer’s Simple Wisdom on Surrender

In our journey towards understanding the deeper meanings of life, I had an enlightening conversation with a humble farmer. When I asked him about his thoughts on surrendering to God, he shared a simple yet profound analogy:

“The cow is sitting on the hill as a mother who wants to offer milk to her kids. The kids who want to enjoy the milk should go towards that mother to receive it.”

This imagery struck me. It beautifully encapsulates the essence of surrender. The cow, representing the divine, is always ready to offer nourishment, guidance, and love. However, it’s up to us—the seekers—to take the step towards the divine, to climb that hill, and embrace what is being offered.

Just as the calf must make the effort to reach the cow, we too must make a conscious effort to seek the divine in our lives. Surrendering doesn’t mean giving up; it means recognizing that there is a greater source of wisdom and love available to us. It means trusting that when we approach with sincerity, we will be nourished in ways beyond our imagination.

In our fast-paced lives, where we often feel overwhelmed by the demands and challenges, this analogy reminds us that surrender is not a sign of weakness. Instead, it is an act of strength, humility, and wisdom. It’s about acknowledging that we don’t have all the answers, but by moving towards the divine with faith, we will be guided to what we truly need.

So, let’s take a moment to reflect. Are we ready to climb that hill? Are we prepared to surrender and receive the blessings that await us?
